Box Score ROANOKE, Va. - Bridgewater College scored the first three goals of the game Wednesday afternoon and never trailed en route to a 17-7 victory over Hollins University in ODAC lacrosse action.
Megan Bach opened the scoring with a free position shot and Taylor Chamberlain scored the next two goals with assists from Leslie Crawford and Savannah Key to give the Eagles a 3-0 lead.
Hollins cut the margin to 3-2, but the Eagles scored nine unanswered goals to lead 12-2 at the half. Crawford led the late first half surge with four goals and Caitlin Costello added two.
Crawford ended the game with five goals and two assists while Chamberlain added four goals and one assist. Bach and Costello finished with three goals each with Bach adding three assists and Costello one. Aili Knapp completed the goal scoring with two while also adding a pair of assists. Key finished the day with three assists for the Eagles.
Caitlin Boles recorded two saves in goal for the Eagles. Jordan Burkholder helped lead the defensive effort with five ground balls and six caused turnovers. Key topped the charts in draw controls with five.
The Eagles evened their record at 4-4 overall and improved to 2-1 in the ODAC. Hollins dropped to 2-5 overall and 0-3 in the conference.
The Eagles return to action Saturday when they host Lynchburg in ODAC play.
