BRIDGEWATER, Va. - Roanoke College stormed back from an early deficit Saturday afternoon to defeat Bridgewater College 3-1 in ODAC women's soccer action.

The Eagles scored first when Meghan Groos (Linden, Va./Warren County) took a pass from Helen Feeser (Laurel, Md./St. Vincent Pallotti) and hammered a shot into the upper right corner for a 1-0 Eagles lead at the 11:57 mark.

Roanoke answered with a goal in the 18th minute from Kara Kapell and took the lead in the 26th minute when Carmen Graves headed in a loose ball in front of the BC goal for a 2-1 Maroons lead.

Roanoke added its final goal in the 52nd minute on another header by Graves for the final 3-1 tally.

Roanoke held an 18-7 advantage in shots. Roanoke keeper Carolyn Sarabacher recorded five saves and BC keeper Mackenzie Gates (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) finished with nine saves.

The Eagles are now 6-3 overall and 1-2 in the ODAC. Roanoke is 7-1-1 overall and 3-0 in the ODAC.
