BRIDGEWATER, Va. - Bridgewater got back on the winning track Tuesday afternoon with an 11-0 ODAC victory over Sweet Briar.
The Eagles dominated play from the start and improved to 7-3 overall and 2-2 in the conference. Sweet Briar is now 1-6, 0-4 in the ODAC.
The Eagles got on the scoreboard in the 11 minute when Helen Feeser (Laurel Md.,/St. Vincent Pallotti) scored off an assist from Melanie Waters (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake Senior). Waters added an unassisted goal six minutes later to put the Eagles on top 2-0.
Paxton Sauerwald (Roanoke, Va./Hidden Valley) entered the game in the 33rd minute of action and quickly scored one goal and assisted on a goal by Carolyn Augsburger Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster Mennonite) for a 4-0 Eagles lead.
With less than four minutes left in the half, Krissy Snyder (Eden, N.C./Morehead) scored to give BC a 5-0 lead at the break.
Sarah Connor (Eldersburg, Md./Century) sandwiched a pair of goals around Feeser's second goal of the day to give the Eagles an 8-0 lead early in the second half. Brittany Harris (Laurel, Md./Eleanor Roosevelt) assisted on Feeser's goal.
Waters scored her second goal to make it 9-0 and then recorded her second assist on a goal by Anna Theisen (Clasrksville, Md./River Hill) to give the Eagles a 10- advantage. Cat Padgett (Bedford, Va./Liberty) scored the game's final goal on an assist from Mari Marotta (Clifton, Va./Centreville).
The Eagles return to action Saturday afternoon when they travel to Lynchburg to play Randolph College.
