BRIDGEWATER, Va. – Senior Galen Goodman tallied a goal and dished out two assists and fellow senior Colleen Dickson found the back of the net twice to lead the Bridgewater Eagles field hockey team to a 6-0 victory over Sweet Briar on Senior Day at the Jopson Athletic Complex.

Bridgewater got on the board in a hurry in the first half, breaking the scoreless deadlock at the 5:22 mark of the first stanza when Caroline Augsburger took a pass from Rachael Loy and beat the keeper off of a corner to build the lead to 1-0.

Loy got in on the scoring 23 minutes later when she scored off a corner to extend the lead to 2-0 at the break. Sophomore Caroline Fletcher tallied the assist on Loy's sixth goal of the season.

In the opening 35 minutes of play, Bridgewater ripped off 25 shots and held the Vixens to zero shots along the way.

Just over five minutes into half number two, Dickson found the back of the cage first the first time of the day off of a Goodman pass to tally an insurance goal and push the lead to 3-0.

Goodman posted her lone goal of the game at the 60:32 mark, as she took a pass from MacKenzie Zabicki and beat the Sweet Briar keeper to extend the advantage to 4-0.

Megan Gould and Dickson scored two goals in less than two minutes to round out the scoring and hand Bridgewater a 6-0 victory.

Bridgewater owned a 39-1 edge in shots in the win, with Dickson leading the offense with a pair of goals off of nine shots.

Senior goalie Jessica Balsano played the first half of the game before being replaced at the intermission by freshman Brianna Bashore. Balsano played the final 5:03 of the game as well and split a shutout with Bashore as the tandem didn't have to make a save in the win. The Sandy Hook, Conn. native secured her 11th win of the year with the split-shutout victory.

Sweet Briar forward Kimberly Orchowski tallied the lone shot for the Vixens offense while goalkeeper Brooke Scott made 18 saves in the loss.

Bridgewater wraps up the 2013 regular season on Wednesday when it travels to Washington and Lee. Start time against the Generals is set for 7 p.m.
