The Eagles tied the score on a 15-footer by TJ Turner, but Jamil Pasha hit a 3-pointer to give the Hornets the lead for good, 39-36, with 2:58 left in the half. Another 3-ball by Pasha pushed the margin to six before a layup by Eagles' freshman Jalil Langston cut the deficit to 42-38 at the half.

Bridgewater stayed within striking distance early in the second half and trailed by just six, 60-54, when Langston scored inside with 12 minutes left in the game.

The Hornets then scored nine unanswered points to take control. Reggie Davis worked inside for a layup and then added a 3-pointer to push the margin to double figures, 65-54, with 9:51 remaining. Tharon Suggs hit two foul shots and Dow Dunton scored inside for a 69-54 Hornets' lead with 7:20 left.
