Box Score BALTIMORE, Md. - The Bridgewater College volleyball team earned its second sweep in as many days when they took down Goucher 3-0 on Saturday in Baltimore.
After playing point-for-point in the first set, Goucher took a 24-22 lead just one point away from taking set one. A Jessica Bissmeyer kill and Gopher error tied the set back up at 24-24. Two more Gopher errors gave BC the comeback win to up go up 1-0.
Set two was all Eagles thanks in part to a seven-point service run from Emma Anderson and six-point service run from Ashley Rutherford. Madeline Walker ended the set on a service ace for the 25-12 set win.
The third set followed suit of the second as Bridgewater held Goucher to a -.143 hitting percentage highlighted by Lisa O'Grady recording four straight kills on four straight points. An Ann-Marie Johnson kill put the match away for BC.
Johnson tied her career-high with 11 kills followed by O'Grady with nine. Five Eagles contributed double-digit digs with Ashley Rutherford posting 15, Grace Williams with 16, Bissmeyer with 14 and Grace Hayes and Anderson both picked up 10. Hayes added 30 assists for her fifth double-double of the season.
The Eagles, now 9-8 on the season, will host Lynchburg this Wednesday for Senior Night. Match time is set for 7:00 p.m.
