Box Score HUNTINGDON, Pa. - A fourth quarter goal helped Juniata sneak past the Bridgewater College field hockey team, 2-1 on Friday evening in Pennsylvania.
The winning goal came early in the final period, as Brooke Franke redirected a cross from the right side into the cage.
Bridgewater, coming off a 15-goal performance vs. Meredith two days ago, scored in the second period off a penalty corner. Caroline Quigley tipped in the shot from Daphne Daymude to tie the contest at 1-1, after the hosts had opened the scoring with a penalty corner goal of their own.
A tight matchup saw just nine combined shots, with BC unable to find a shot on target or earn another penalty corner chance over the final 13 minutes after falling behind.
Brooke Hamm made three saves in the cage for Bridgewater.
BC (1-3) will continue a four-game road trip on Tuesday at Goucher.
