ASHLAND, Va. - The Bridgewater College men's basketball team fell to the top ranked Yellow Jackets of Randolph-Macon 80-51 on Tuesday night in ODAC action. The contest was the third game in five days for the Eagles.

• Records: Bridgewater (7-9, 3-5 ODAC), No. 1 Randolph-Macon (15-1, 7-0 ODAC)

How It Happened 

• The Yellow-Jackets used a home court advantage and strong defense to hold the Eagles without a basket until the thirteen minute mark of the first half. Randolph-Macon caused 12 turnovers in the half as Bridgewater entered the locker room down 48-19
• Bridgewater did not go out without a fight, going on a 17-8 run to begin the second half in a stretch highlighted by buckets from Liam Caswell and Shod Smith 
• Both teams scored 32 points in the final frame, and the Eagles outshot the nation's top team from both the field and from three point range in the final 20 minutes of play. Bridgewater also controlled the glass in the second half, grabbing 16 boards compared to the Yellow-Jackets 11

Match Notes

• Zach Hatter led Bridgewater with 12 points off the bench followed by Smith with 11. The rookie also contributed two assists and two steals to add to his top five ODAC marks in both statistical categories
• Caswell had an explosive second half with ten points and posted three total rebounds in the contest
• Aaron Oates added four rebounds and two assists
