BRIDGEWATER, Va. -- The Bridgewater College field hockey team is set for the ODAC Field Hockey Championships, which will begin tomorrow, November 1.
The Eagles finished the season at 6-9 overall with a 3-5 mark in league games and won a tie breaker over Randolph-Macon and Eastern Mennonite to grab the No. 5 seed in the tournament.
Another tie-breaking process had to happen for the first three seeds as Washington and Lee ended up on top as the No. 1 seed, while Lynchburg grabbed the No. 2 and Shenandoah got the No. 3 seed. Rounding out the tournament was No. 4 Roanoke and No. 6 Randolph-Macon.
The first two games of the postseason tournament take place tomorrow with the No. 5 seeded, Bridgewater, heading to No. 4 seed, Roanoke at 7 pm, while the No. 6 seeded, Randolph-Macon, will head to the No. 3 seed, Shenandoah. The top two seeded programs will await the winners of the quarterfinal round and will serve as hosts on Thursday, Nov. 3.
Bridgewater faced off with the Maroons earlier this season with RC coming out on top in the regular season match up, 6-1. The Eagles head into postseason winning two of their last three games with the only loss coming at nationally-ranked Washington and Lee.
Admission for the opening round game will be free.
