FERRUM, Va. – The Bridgewater women's basketball team picked up a 54-34 win over Centre on Sunday after holding the Colonels to just 13 second half points.

How It Happened
- The Eagles opened the game with the first six points as an Erika Nettles jumper and two Riley Corcoran layups gave BC an early lead. Centre answered with a run of their own to tie the game, but Corcoran nailed another jump shot to take he lead back. Bridgewater never trailed ending the quarter ahead 10-6.
- Centre opened the second quarter with a pair of buckets from long range taking it's first lead. The Colonels stretched their lead to as much as four before the Eagles took a timeout. BC closed in and took a lead of their own, but that was short lived as Centre stretched its lead out to three 21-18 with 1:34 to go in the half. In the closing stages Jasmyn Pierce found Reagan Maynard who buried it from downtown to knot the game at 21-21 heading to the half.
- The third quarter was all Bridgewater. Maynard knocked down the first basket of the half for BC and the Eagles would not allow a basket for the first 9:18 of the quarter. Centre scored in the final minute with a three pointer but Jaden Alsberry answered knocking down a jumper of her own to answer and put BC ahead 36-24 heading into the final frame.
- Corcoran scored the opening basket in the fourth quarter and the Bridgewater defense continued to thrive limiting the Colonels to just 10 points in the final quarter and putting up 18 of their own spread out among eight different players.
Match Notes
- Corcoran led the offensive attack for Bridgewater racking up 12 points. Alsberry was also in double figures with 10.
- Bailey Rucker led the Colonels with ten points. Emma Rose Vincent and Makya Grinter grabbed seven rebounds as well for Centre
- Nettles and Alsbery combined for 14 of Bridgewater 28 rebounds. Alsberry, Corcoran and India Dailey all contributed three assists for BC.
- The Eagles shot 47.2% from the floor compared to 20.4% for the Colonels. BC went 15-for-24 from the floor in the second half and outscored Centre 33-13 over that stretch.
- BC again saw production from a wide cast of characters as 10 different players scored in the win.
