LEXINGTON, Va. - After experiencing tragedy, the Bridgewater College women's basketball team returned to the court on Wednesday night at Washington & Lee. The Eagles resume competition eight days following the senseless tragedy at Bridgewater College.

• Final Score: Bridgewater 39, Washington & Lee 81
• Records: Bridgewater (8-11, 5-7 ODAC), Washington & Lee (17-4, 14-1 ODAC)

How It Happened

• The Eagles struggled offensively to start the contest, successfully converting just four of 15 from the field. Bridgewater was able to win the rebounding battle in the quarter, snatching 10 boards compared to the Generals seven
• Down 19-11 to the start the second quarter, Bridgewater was able to cut the W&L led to five after going on a 6-0 run in a stretch that featured layups from Jaden Alsberry, Reagan Maynard and Erika Nettles. The Generals pushed the advantage back to ten points at 32-22 and entered halftime up 35-22 after a converting a shot from behind the arc with thirty seconds left in the half
• Bridgewater's offensive woes continued as they went seven for 32 in the second half. The Generals offensive was having the opposite day and walked away with the 81-39 victory

Match Notes

• Julia Williams led Bridgewater with 11 points, four rebounds and two steals followed by Maynard with eight points and three boards
• Alsberry grabbed a game high ten rebounds

• The women have a quick turnaround as they welcome Virginia Wesleyan to Nininger Hall tomorrow, February 10. Action is set for 5:00 p.m.
