The Basics
Final Score: Bridgewater 2, William Peace 2
Records: Bridgewater 2-0-1, William Peace 1-1-1
How It Happened
- The Eagles applied plenty of pressure in the very early stages tallying three corner kicks and two shots on net in the first three minutes of the contest.
- The early BC pressure paid off in the 17th minute as freshman David Quintanilla put a shot on goal that was stopped by Tripp Kidd for the Pacers. a few seconds later sophomore Thomas Vik found freshman Cole Dunbar who snuck his shot past Kidd to put Bridgewater up 1-0.
- In the second half William Peace applied some pressure of their own putting the first shot on goal for either team in the period that was turned away by the BC keeper Charles Schweinefuss.
- Junior Marvin Perez extended Bridgewater's lead in the 76th minute after a BC throw in ended up his way and into the upper right corner of the net to put the Eagles on top 2-0.
- The Pacers offense struck back almost instantly. A corner kick not even 90 seconds later was deflected in by Jorge Lemus to put the Pacers on the board trailing 2-1.
- William Peace kept the pressure up in the late stages as Abdul Qurneh fired a shot on frame that was swallowed up by Schweinefuss in the 79th minute. Qurneh got another chance two minutes later and this time got the better of the Eagles keeper as his shot found the back of the net knotting the game a 2-2.
- The Pacers had one last chance to break the tie in the final minute with a corner kick. Danny Alvarez got shot off but it was blocked by the Eagles back line to preserve the tie.
