Six Eagles Named to All-ODAC Field Hockey Teams

FOREST, Va. – Six members of the Bridgewater College field hockey team were selected to All-ODAC teams, which the league office announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Daphne Daymude highlighted the group with a spot on the first team as a midfielder, while Kylie Amberger saw her name on the second team as a midfielder. Jade Buckles and Riley Chandler claimed third team honors on defense, while Madalyn Miller and Emily Tyler were also third-team selections at goalkeeper and forward, respectively.

A native of Bealeton, Virginia, Daymude earns her second All-ODAC selection after garnering a spot on the second team a year ago. The junior started all 17 games for the Eagles in 2023 and led the team with nine goals and 22 total points. She netted two game-winning goals with an overtime winner against Roanoke and the first goal in a shutout win over Sweet Briar. Daymude ranked fourth in the league in goals and seventh in the conference in points. Daymude was also selected as part of the ODAC All-Tournament team for her efforts in the quarterfinals and semifinals this year.

Amberger, a native of Fredericksburg, Virginia, saw action in all 17 games with 16 starts on her way to her first All-ODAC selection with a place on the second team. The midfielder finished second on the Eagles with seven goals to go along with four assists for 18 total points. Amberger scored at least two goals in three contests, including a hat trick in a win against Ferrum.

Hailing from Stafford, Virginia, Buckles was a key member of the defensive unit that helped lead the Eagles to the semifinals of the ODAC Tournament. She was one of four players to start all 17 games in 2023 and recorded one defensive save.

Joining Buckles from the BC defense on the third team is Chandler who also claims her first all-conference honors. The sophomore led the team with four defensive saves and was another one of the four players to start all 17 games. Two of those defensive saves came in one game against Stevenson early in the year. Chandler grew into her starting role this season after making four starts as a first-year player in 2022.

Miller, a native of Yorktown, Va., saw the field in 14 games with 11 starts as a sophomore. She led the team with 53 saves and posted a 2.66 goals-against average. Miller recorded double-digit saves in three games with a season-high 13 saves against nationally-ranked Shenandoah in the last week of the regular season. The sophomore now has 150 saves in her two years with the program.

Tyler repeats as a third team representative for the all-conference listing after netting six goals and tallying an assist in 12 games. The junior from Leesburg, Virginia, had two games with a pair of goals, including the game-winning goal against Meredith and scoring twice against Roanoke to force overtime. Tyler had a second game-winner with a goal against Cedar Crest.

The Eagles advanced to the semifinals of the ODAC Tournament for the first time since 2016 and entered the tournament as the No. 5 seed.
