DEMOREST, Ga. -- The Bridgewater College baseball team dropped a 7-1 contest to Piedmont on the final day of the Piedmont Spring Break Tournament at Loudermilk Field on Sunday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Lions manufactured a pair of runs in the first inning as Kolton Hicks singled and Carter Ballstadt walked. Both runners moved up a base on a fly out and scored on a Tyler Nelson two-out double to get Piedmont out in front 2-0.
- Hunter Clever walked to start off the second inning and took second on a single by Lucas Bauer. Clever was able to move to third on a passed ball before eventually scoring on a sac fly by Timothy Hopson to cut the lead to 2-1.
- Piedmont doubled its lead in the second on a Cole Ellis double that scored James Whitmer, 3-1. The Lions again scored a pair of runs in the third inning on a two-run single by Nathan Mix to give the home side a 5-1 lead.Â
- The Lions tacked on insurance runs in the fifth and the six to get to the 7-1 final score.
