LEXINGTON, Va. -- The Bridgewater College men's lacrosse team was defeated by No. 10 Washington and Lee, 23-6, on Saturday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Generals got off to a quick start as Hudson Pokorny scored twice in the game's opening four minutes. The home side added two more before Jacob Mead scored an unassisted man-up goal at the 8:27 mark to cut the lead down to 4-1. WLU scored twice more and held a 6-1 lead after the first 15 minutes.
- Washington and Lee scored four straight to start off the second quarter before Chris Martel broke the scoring run off an assist from Connor McLean. Two more goals from the Generals brought the score to 12-2 before McLean added a goal off a pass from Hayden Gourley, 12-3, with 36 seconds left in the half. Just 16 seconds later, Martel and McLean connected again to make the halftime score 12-4 in favor of the Generals.
- The third quarter was all WLU as it tallied seven unanswered goals to assume a 19-4 lead. McLean scored his second goal of the night with 4:51 left before Grant Nyland scored the last goal for the Eagles as the game ended with the 23-6 scoreline.Â

- Martel and McLean each scored twice, while McLean added a pair of assists for a four-point night.Â
- Mead scored his first collegiate goal and Nyland picked up the final score.
- Gabriel Alexander went 13-for-24 in faceoffs and grabbed nine ground balls.Â
- Mead added three caused turnovers and five ground balls to his stat line.
- Ian Cook played the first 35 minutes in goal and made five saves before Tyler Carney took the cage for the remainder of the game and stopped six shots.Â
- The Generals held a 66-26 edge in shots and a 49-43 advantage in ground balls.
