BRIDGEWATER, Va. - Bridgewater College women's volleyball swept the No. 6 seeded Randolph-Macon in three sets in the ODAC quarterfinals at home court Tuesday night.

How It Happened

The Eagles got off to a strong start with an early 4-0 consecutive streak. BCE limited its attack errors to only one, creating a forceful offensive attack. The Eagles took care of business closing out the first set with a six-point run, 25-20.

BCE overpowered the Yellow Jackets offensively spiking down six early kills in the set to give it an incredible 12-0 start to the second. The Eagles left no doubt in holding onto the commanding lead and plowed through the Yellow Jacket's front line, taking the second set, 25-7.

RMC would not let go easily carrying a 4-0 run deep into the third set, hoping to turn the momentum. The Eagles would not budge staying close and soon going attack for attack. The offensive core in Gabby Atwell, Reagan Stoop, and Rachael Meyers had a brutalizing point with a pounding kill by Atwell to keep the lead at 20-19. Then, BCE pulled ahead to take the final three points in a row with a statement put-down by Stoop for the final set score of 25-22.
