How It Happened
  • Neither team was in a hurry to get on the board until a second-chance effort by Isaiah Eggleston got the Lions on the board first. Jordan Cooper scored in transition to get BC going. The Eagles got in front after a Khalil Ward three-pointer made it 5-4. The teams traded makes before a Woody Machado bucket pushed the lead to 9-6 five minutes in.
  • PSH tied the game after neither team scored for five minutes with a three-pointer to start a 9-0 Lions run to make it 15-6 with 7:47 to play. Will Dunlap made a pair of free throws to end the run, but a deep make by the Lions stretched the lead out for a second as Cooper replied with a three-pointer on the other end. The teams traded makes but a pair of makes in a row for the home side gave the Lions a 28-19 lead at the half.
  • PSH pushed the lead to 11 right out of the intermission, but a Machado three-pointer put the Eagles in business. A Khalil Ward second-chance bucket sliced the lead to six, but the home team embarked on an 8-0 run to make it 38-24 six minutes into the half.
  • The Eagles made a dent into the lead down the stretch as they made it a nine-point game with 4:01 to play after a three-pointer by Aaron Oates. The Lions responded with makes at the free throw line and stops to push the lead back out to 15 at 61-46 with 2:42 to play. The Lions maintained control down the stretch to hang on 64-53.
