The Basics

Final Score: Mary Washington 3, Bridgewater 0
Records: Bridgewater 1-1, Mary Washington 3-0

How It Happened
  • UMW was on the attack early with a pair of shots on target in the game's opening four minutes that were turned aside by Ashley Nau. BC was able to get some offense going midway through the period as Rylie Flick whistled a shot wide of the cage. Mary Washington finally broke through on a penalty corner as Emma Bernard found the back of the net to make it 1-0. BC put up a fight at the end of the frame as Olivia Ohleger put a shot on frame that was turned away by Tori Winans.
  • BC had an opportunity as UMW was down a player due to a green card, but Bridgewater was unable to capitalize. Mary Washington was able to register the only two shots of the second quarter but neither found the intended target leaving it a 1-0 game heading to the half.
  • Mary Washington got on the board to start the third quarter as Grayson Scott found the back of the net just over a minute into the quarter. Daphne Daymude gave Bridgewater a look to get on the board midway through the frame, but once more Winans made the save.
  • Each side had an offensive look early in the fourth, but each keeper stood tall in their cage as Madalyn Miller and Winans made a stop. Scott added some insurance for UMW with less than six muntes to go with her second tally of the game to make it 3-0. Emily Tyler got a shot off in the closing minutes for BC, but it was blocked.
Match Notes
  • Daymude led Bridgewater offensively with a pair of shots that both landed on target. In total five different BC Eagles registered shots in the loss.
