BRIDGEWATER, Va. - The Bridgewater College women's swimming team fell to Roanoke 156-102 on Saturday afternoon.
Peyton Lawrence was the first Eagle to pick up an event victory in the 100yd breast stroke with a personal best mark of 1:19.72. The Eagles backed that up in the next event as
McKenna Curry and
Maddy Gundler swept the top two spots in the 200yd butterfly with times of 2:41.58 and 2:51.29 respectively. Curry's time was a personal best in the event.Â
Curry added to her afternoon as she claimed the top spot in the 100yd freestyle as she tapped in with a time of 1:02.56 for her second personal best of the day. BC was able to get some team points back in the 200yd backstroke as Anabelle Dragan and
Lexi Roberts swept the bottom two steps of the podium followed by a personal best time from
Mia Flory in the event.Â
Lawrence and
Melia Ross chipped away at the Maroons lead with a second and third place finish respectfully in the 200yd breast stroke led by Lawrence's personal best time of 2:56.81. Roanoke bounced back by sweeping the top two spots in the 200yd IM to secure the team win.
