How it Happened
- Bridgewater opened on the front foot with shots from Mollie Best and Carynn Klingler, but it was the senior Autumn Just that broke the ice for BC. Kyile Amberger dumped a pass off for Just and she buried her shot on the senior-to-senior connection to make it 1-0 five minutes in. Both teams traded possessions through the rest of the frame as the game went through the opening frame at the same 1-0 line.
- Meredith had a chance to open the second quarter on a penalty corner, but the lone shot was blocked on its way to the cage. Bridgewater adjusted and controlled the pace of play for much of the period with a pair of penalty corners late in the frame. Klingler had her first chance denied, but would not be turned away on the second as she found Best who fired and scored to make it 2-0 for the Eagles heading to the intermission.
- The Eagles added to the lead immediately to start the third stanza as Klingler dumped a pass off for Amberger and she buried her shot to the back of the net to make it 3-0. BC had three more penalty corners in the quarter but only mustered one shot that was turned away off the stick of Lexi Francis.
- The Visitor's offense had more success in the final frame as Meredith had multiple good looks early on, but Ashley Nau made the saves necessary to keep the shutout intact. Bridgewater flipped the script late as the seniors had gotten on the board early, but this time it was an underclassman that polished off the win. Emily Dickinson took a feed in front from Maylynn Watson and fired it to the back of the net to make it 4-0 in the final minute and secure the win.
