Records: BCE (17-7 OVR), YCS (9-15 OVR)

How It Happened

  • The whole way through the Eagles chugged along on smooth terrain. BCE got off to a 4-0 start in the opening set and did not hesitate. The Eagles tacked on more well-executed points, jumping out to a 14-4 lead. Senior Faith DePew soon after helped ignite another six-point scoring run to mark it at 22-6. Senior Gabby Atwell pounded the final point to ring out the first set, 25-8.

  • Much like how the first set played out, the second set ensued just the same. The Crimson & Gold boosted on an early 5-0 start with the attacking pair of Atwell and Claire GriffithSarah Furst also slammed down a spike later in the set along with Virginia Collins to keep a steady lead at 16-10. The commanding scoring run continued soon after with yet another scoring burst to close out the second set, 25-14.

  • York hung around in the third set with some late exerted effort. However, the Eagles held strong and confidently remained unfazed. Olivia Mason knocked down a kill from a well-placed lob by Lindsay Kelley, to take the lead and never look back. DePew and Atwell lasered in hard-drilled attacks as Rebecca Huddleston finished the final set with a 25-17 set score and a three-set victory.

Match Notes
