-FREDERICK, Md. – The Bridgewater College women's basketball team rolled to a 70-33 victory over Hood on the road on Friday night.

How It Happened
- BC got on the board first inside of the opening 90 seconds as Aylin Humpheries laid it in at the cup on a dish from Riley Corcoran. Hood got on the board with a free throw, but a three-pointer from Corcoran pushed the lead to 5-1. Hood put together a 5-0 run to take a 6-5 lead with 4:43 to go in the half, but Jay Garica connected with Jaiden Poslton to wrestle the advantage right back. Polston's bucket sparked a 10-0 BC run to end the frame, capped off by a Jay Garcia buzzer-beater to make it 15-6 after the opening 10 minutes.
- Hood sank a free throw to get the scoring started in the second quarter, but back-to-back scores by Asia Williams pushed the gap to double figures for the first time. The Blazers put together a short 6-0 scoring run to slice the lead back down to two possessions, but Williams and Corcoran connected for a layup to spark an 11-3 scoring spree for the Eagles over the final four minutes of the first half. A layup by Corcoran on a dish from Garcia capped off the run to make it 30-16 for the Eagles at the intermission.
- Neither team got on the board in the opening two minutes and change of the second half, but a bucket by Corcoran helped BC double-up the lead on Hood at 32-16. The two sides were relatively even down the stretch in the third quarter, but Hood was held without a field goal for nearly seven minutes before a bucket cut the lead down to 12 points. BC responded with seven-straight points, led by four from Abbie Baker, to extend the lead back out to 19. Hood scored in the final 11 seconds of the frame to make it 43-26 for the Eagles heading to the final 10 minutes.
- Hood got on the board to open the fourth quarter, but the final frame was all BC. A bucket from Baker started what became a 23-0 BC scoring spree where Hood was held without a field goal for over five minutes of game time. Baker led the attack with six points during the run, but BC got contributions from all over the roster, including the first collegiate points from Cierra St. John (4). Hood ended the drought, and outsocre the Eagles 5-4 over the final 3:16 of the contest, but the damage was done.

- Corcoran led the Eagles with 18 points. Baker tied her career-high, dating back to her days at Randolph, with 12 points. Nine different Eagles scored in the victory. Garcia led the way in the non-scoring categories with nine rebounds and five assists. Eleven different Eagles recorded a steal in the victory.
- Gordon led Hood with nine points. Betley and Pulley had seven rebounds each.
- Bridgewater was efficeient offensively, shooting 46.0% from the floor, while stifeling Hood to just 20.8% from the floor. BC forced 23 turnovers and held a 27-6 edge in points off of turnovers.
