How It Happened

N.C. Wesleyan opened the game on a 10-0 run in the first 3:44. Bridgewater scored their first basket at the 3:58 mark on a layup from Maleek Richardson. The next possesion, Carter Palmer missed a jumper. Jahmir Brown cleaned the glass and made the putback. After the Battling Bishops drained a pair of free throws, Richardson knocked down a 3-pointer.

While down 20-10 with 11:27 remaining in the half, Bradley Owens drilled a 3-pointer to spark a 10-3 run. Kyren Smith drained a free throw and two triples to cut the N.C. Wesleyan lead to three with 7:17 remaining in the opening half. Wesleyan's Justin Burden and Bridgewater's Mous Diop traded threes in back-to-back possessions.

In the first possession of the second half, Owens drained a three from deep to cut the lead back down to single-digits. Scores from Bradley, Diop, and Brown over the next 3:33 would help the Eagles cut the NCW deficit to three.
