GREENWOOD, Ind. - The College Sports Communicators (CSC) organization announced Tuesday afternoon the CSC Academic All-District women's volleyball honorees, as Agnes Alford and Alexis Currie both earned the recognition.
Both athletes left it all on the court and in the classroom.
Agnes Alford, excelled in the classroom as an environmental science major and on the court as the most active player on the squad this season. As the starting middle hitter, Alford was the only Eagle to start in all 29 matches played in the season as a sophomore. In total, the Raleigh, N.C., native posted a team-high 73 total blocks and 160 kills.
The Mechanicsville, Va., native also put in hard work in the books and on the game plan as a biomedical sciences major and an active defensive specialist in the rotation. Currie appeared in 28 matches with nine starts as a sophomore. In total, Currie tallied a team-high 41 service aces including 246 digs on the defensive side.
Both Alford and Currie have received their first ever honor with this award.
