BRIDGEWATER, Va. - Bridgewater College women's swimming totaled 173 points in a win over the Lynchburg Hornets on senior day Saturday afternoon.
The women dominated all over the pool featuring event sweeps in the 100 butterfly and the 200 backstroke along with more records broken.
In the 200 medley relay to start the day, Grace Warren, Melia Ross, McKenna Curry, and Whitney Speeks hit the board first with a time of 2:07.93.
Annabelle Dragan then scored a first place finish in the 800 freestyle (10:21.06). Lexi Roberts followed that up to hit a personal best in the 100 Back placing first with a time of 1:10.10. Noa Steven followed closely behind, taking second with a personal best as well (1:11.70).
Peyton Lawrence had a strong performance in the 100 and 200 Breast and set personal bests in both (100m Breast, 1:19.09) and (200m Breast, 1:21.13). Melia Ross also locked in, to close out a second-place finish with a personal best in 100 Breast (1:21.13) while also securing a season best time in the 200 at 3:00.03.
McKenna Curry also broke a personal best in the 200 Fly setting a time of 2:38.75.
The women then followed with a sweep in 200 Back as Roberts, Dragan, Noa Steven took 1,2, and 3. Roberts set a season best with that mark, 2:32.88 while Dragan hit a personal best of 2:34.63 and Steven, 2:36.24.
Grace Warren then shined in the 400 Free, breaking her PB and setting a time of a sub-five-minute finish, 4:50.85.
The women also swept in the 100 Fly with Eve Humberger leading the way at a timed finish, 1:10.58 with Maddy Gundler in second and a personal best, 1:14.08, and Nelle Hines in third, 1:15.43.
To round out the day, Bridgewater finished first in the 200 Free Relay (Abby Martin, Melia Ross, Rory Cantwell, and Whitney Speeks) clocking 1:55.73.
