AMHERST, Va. - The Bridgewater College women's tennis team fell to Sweet Briar 7-0 on the road on Wednesday.
BC was on the board at all three doubles matches, but the Vixens took the doubles point with the Eagles' best fight coming on court two as
Emma Staton and
Raea Crabill hung around before falling 3-6.
Sweet Briar got a few qucik wins to open singles play, but tough battles gave BC life.
Jolexie Whetzel fell 0-6, 3-6 after a tough second set and
Devon Wichael fell at the No. 5 spot by a 2-6, 2-6 scoreline. Staton pitched in a 1-6, 1-6 effort at the No. 4 spot, but the damage was already done.
BC is back in action on Friday at Guilford.
