How It Happened
- Roanoke jumped on the board first with two goals in the game's opening three minutes, but a save by Gabe Wallman flipped the momentum, and the Eagles flipped the field as a Luke Wendler tally from Tyler Pinto got BC on the board. Roanoke added a pair of tallies to stretch the lead to 4-1, but a score from Owen Cogan cut the deficit back down to just two. The Maroons added two more before the end of the quarter to make it a 6-2 game, but an unassisted goal from Blake Sherin made it 6-3 after the opening frame.
- BC started the second quarter on the man advantage and scored just as the Maroons got the player back, as Finnegan Pullich made it 6-3.RC went on a four-goal run to make it 11-4 just under five minutes into the second quarter, but the Eagles took advantage of a Roanoke penalty to score on a man-up chance as Issac Beals found the back of the net to make it 11-5. The teams traded quick back-to-back tallies, but three unanswered goals by Roanoke and multiple chances off the post for BC made it 15-6 for the Maroons at the break.
- Roanoke scored just after the opening draw of the second half, but another goal on the man advantage put the Eagles back in business. The Maroons' defense and offense went to work the rest of the frame as a 4-0 run for the Maroons over the final 9:24 of the quarter to make it 20-7 after three quarters of play.
- Bridgewater got a stop defensively and got on the board first in the fourth as Pullich made a move and found the back of the net. Roanoke added four more tallies over the final eight minutes of play to cap off the victory, but not without a valiant effort by the Bridgewater offense that was turned aside by the Roanoke defense.
