BRIDGEWATER, Va. - Bridgewater College field hockey head coach Emily Bagby '20 claimed her first victory of her collegiate coaching career as BC took down Catholic 2-0 on Wednesday night.

Bridgewater opened the game on the offensive in front of an energetic crowd at the Jopson Athletic Complex. Kylie Amberger put a shot on target just under five minutes in, but her effort was turned aside. BC had another opportunity just over the 10 minute-mark as Carynn Klingler had her shot saved and Kiley Parker ripped he rebound just wide of the cage. Catholic pout a shot on frame as they flipped the field, but a save by Ashley Nau kept the game scoreless. Lexi Francis had BC's final chance of the period, but she was up-ended by the Cardinals' keeper on her attempt.

BC continued to roll as Maylynn Watson put a shot on target early in the second quarter, but the Cardinals kept it out of the cage. Catholic flipped the field, but a turnover flipped the field back in favor of the Eagles. Mollie Best led the push and had two shots saved before her third effort found the back of the net to make it 1-0 for the Eagles five minutes into the second stanza. Catholic pushed for a rebound score and had multiple penalty corners throughout the frame, but did not register a shot on goal from ny of the chances as BC maintained a 1-0 lead at the intermission.
