SPARKS, Md. - Bridgewater College women's lacrosse junior midfielder Paige Mayers was named to the USA Lacrosse Magazine Division III All-American second team, announced by the outlet Tuesday afternoon.
Mayers scored a conference-leading 65 goals last season. Mayers was also fourth in the conference in assists (26), second in points (91), and second in shots (125). On the other end of the field, Mayers recorded 99 draw controls, the second most in a single season in program history. Her average 6.60 draw controls per game last season was the highest in program history.
The Glen Allen, Va., native also added fresh accolades to the program trophy case. Her production led to her membership on the All-ODAC first team and the VaSID All-State second team. Mayers became the first All-ODAC first teamer since 2017, and the first VaSID all-state team member since 2020.
Mayers is the first Bridgewater player since 1998 to earn All-American honors of any sort.
Mayers and the women's lacrosse team open their season on the road, facing Hood College on Wednesday, Feb. 18.
