LEXINGTON, Va. - The nationally recognized Bridgewater College women's volleyball team catapulted past No. 24 Washington and Lee and cruised to a straight-set victory Friday night.

Back-and-forth action ensued to start the match. The Generals jumped out to an early 7-4 lead. The Eagles bounced back quickly to roll off a four-point streak to even the set at eight apiece. The Generals recovered and took back the lead for a 15-12 lead at the technical timeout. Both teams traded sideouts and soon after, the Eagles bolted with a five-point run to close the first set, 25-19.

The Generals began with an early surge to open the second set. WLU pushed an eight-point run for a commanding 10-2 advantage. Although BC fell into a hole, the Eagles quickly dug themselves out. BC responded with a massive seven-point streak to cut the deficit to one at the technical timeout as Agnes Alford swung back and blasted back-to-back kills. BC claimed the lead back on a three-point burst to hold a 19-18 lead. BC ensured the momentum stayed on its side as Reagan Stoop helped push for a 25-23 set score in the second.

In the third set, BC pressed on the gas. Maecy Ann Frizzelle and Oliva Mason paired up to smack the next four consecutive points to take a strong 16-11 advantage. The Generals were stopped in their tracks for the rest of the set, and Reagan Stoop dialed in, ripping out the game-winning swing for a 25-22 set and for the match.
