Men's Tennis Picks Up Pair of Wins

GLENSIDE, Pa. - The Bridgewater College men's tennis team picked up a pair of victories on Saturday.

The Eagles defeated Eastern 6-1 and took down Arcadia 5-0 to wrap up a weekend road trip.

BC picked up a win by default at No. 3, and completed the sweep in doubles action to take a 1-0 lead in the team score. Logan Garner and Tucker Bowman picked up a 6-0 victory at No. 2, while Paul Kasse and Will Wallis picked up a 6-4 victory at the top spot. 

Bridgewater picked up a pair of defaults at the No. 5 and No. 6 spots to extend the lead. Kasse secured the team victory with his 6-2, 6-2 win at the top spot. Bowman was off court next with a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 4, while Brandon Gillispie picked up a 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 3 to wrap up the 6-1 victory.

The Eagles made the short trip to Arcadia for their second match of the day. BC got the doubles point after a battle. Steven Perry and Wallis picked up a 6-4 victory at No. 2 to give BC the early advantage, but the Knights picked up a win at the top spot. Eli Enstminger and Brandon Gillispie had the doubles point come down to their match at No. 3. The duo gutted out the victory in a tiebreak, 7-6(5).

Up 1-0, BC went to work. Kasse rolled at the No. 3 spot with a 6-1, 6-2  victory. Corey Beshoar added a 6-2, 6-2 win at the No. 2 slot, while Piotr Wisniewski clinched the match with a 6-4, 6-3 victory at the top spot. Wallis added a win by retirement at No. 5 to secure the 5-0 team win.

The Eagles are back in action as they host Washington and Lee on Tuesday.
