How it Happened:

After the Blazers struck in the opening minute of the game, Lauren Garrett scored BC's first goal of the season on an assist from Andrea Lorca two and a half minutes into the contest. After a seven-minute scoring drought from both sides, Alli Kuhar connected with Paige Mayers with 5:21 remaining in the opening period to give the Eagles a 2-1 advantage. After Hood responded with two goals, Mayers scored in the final minute of the first quarter to tie the score at three apiece.

The Blazers scored the first goal in the second quarter with 4:47 remaining in the period and regained the lead. Kyla Fricks, assisted by Paige Overeem, capitalized on an extra man opportunity and neutralized the score with 3:32 remaining in the half. Hood and Bridgewater had one shot attempt in the final 1:30 of the half, but neither team was able to score. The game entered halftime with both teams tied at 4-4.

After four and a half minutes of scoreless lacrosse, Lorca logged the first goal of her collegiate career on an assist from Taylor Price. Hood responded with three goals over the next two minutes to make the score 7-5. Mayers and Overeem scored three minutes apart to tie the contest. Mayers scored once more on a free position shot with 3:04 remaining in the half to give the Eagles the lead. Hood managed to tie it near the end of the period.

Hood went on a 3-0 run in nearly two minutes of action, with two of the three goals coming from extra man opportunities. Mayers broke the silence for BC with a goal with nine minutes remaining in regulation. Mayers scored on a free position opportunity with 5:55 remaining to cut the Hood lead to one.

After a score from Hood with 3:38 remaining in regulation, Bridgewater scored two goals in the final 1:30 of regulation to send the game overtime. Price connected with Madelaine Godat with 1:27 remaining in regulation to put the Eagles within striking distance. Overeem scored on a man up opportunity a minute later to send the game to extra time.
