How It Happened

BC jumped out to seven-straight runs through the first three innings and applied immediate pressure. Jakson Walter kicked off the scoring with an RBI single sending home Nick Stavros. Then, with bases loaded and a keen sense of plate discipline, the Eagles rang up back-to-back walks to bring in two more runs to start the game.

In the third inning, BC held firm control while putting together two more runs as Stavros earned an RBI off a ground out, and Chadwell took his base with a walk to get Jake Harris to score for a 7-0 lead. SU managed to work in some offense with three runs in the bottom of the frame, but BC stayed well in control with strong bullpen arms and active at-bats.

Chandler Valbak added more offensive pressure in the later innings with a sacrifice fly in the eighth. Although the Hornets rang up a run to turn the score to 9-5, the Eagles shut down all opposing threats as Zack Chadwell sent out a no-doubter over the center field wall.
