BRIDGEWATER, Va. - The No. 6/No. 10 Bridgewater College baseball team erupted in a 21-4 win over Roue 42 rival EMU at home Wednesday.

How It Happened

Trent Holland got the explosive scoring started in the opening frame with a drilled RBI double to score Bransen Hensley. The Eagles began a commanding offensive surge as the second inning mounted a dominating advantage. A massive 11-run inning ensued as Nick Stavros, Hensley, Zack Chadwell, Bryce Suters, Chandler Valbak, and Jake Harris all recorded RBIs. Stavros began with a walk to score an RBI and then ripped a three-run double that same inning to score Harris, Valbak, and Suters. The Eagles surged to a 12-1 advantage after a lone run was scored by the Royals in the top of the second off a sacrifice fly.

The Royals put three more runs on the board attempting to gain some offensive traction, but the Eagles successfully generated more offensive power. In the bottom of the third, Suters pounded an RBI double to right field, knocking in Trent Holland.

At a 12-4 advantage, the Eagles pressed on the gas in the fourth inning, to completely hold control of the game. Seven more runs were tacked on the board as the Eagles impressively hit for the cycle in the same inning. Stavros started off with a solo homer; Suters next singled for two RBIs, then Valbak tripled to knock in two RBIs, and Stavros finished with a double to add two more RBIs to round out the frame with an astounding 17-run lead.
