BRIDGEWATER, Va. - The Bridgewater College women's tennis team fell to Virginia Wesleyan 7-0 on Sunday.
VWU took the doubles point after sweeping the three matches. Bridgewater's best effort came at the No. 3 spot as Aylin Humpheries and
Regan Witt battled back from an early deficit before falling 2-6.
Sarah Slagle opened singles play at the top spot by taking an early lead in both sets before falling 1-6, 2-6.
Kalin Rice added a strong showing at the No. 5 spot in singles play as she dropped her match 1-6, 3-6 as the Marlins swept the action on the day.
BC is back in action this weekend as it hosts Randolph-Macon on Friday.
