ROANOKE, Va. - The Bridgewater College women's tennis team swept Hollins 7-0 to pick up its first ODAC victory of the season.
BC opened by sweeping doubles action.
Kalin Rice and
Carson Cale claimed a win by default at No. 3, while
Sarah Slagle and
Aylin Humpherys rolled to a 6-0 win at No. 2 to secure the doubles point.
Macy Harris and
Regan Witt secured the sweep as they battled their way to a 6-3 victory at the top spot.
Humpherys earned a walkover at the No. 6 spot to make it 2-0 for the Eagles. Harris and Cale rolled as well to keep the momentum up for BC. Each marched their way to 6-0, 6-0 victories at the No. 2 and No. 4 spots, respectively. Slagle secured the team victory with a 6-2, 6-1 win at the top spot. Witt and Rice polished off the clean sweep as each rolled to 6-3, 6-0 victories at No. 3 and No. 5 to conclude the match.
BC is back in action on Sunday as it welcomes Virginia Wesleyan for a 1 p.m. date.
