Five Softball Eagles Earn Academic All-District Recognition

BRIDGEWATER, Va. - Five Bridgewater College Softball student-athletes have earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors, the association announced on Tuesday.

Evelyn Rhoads, Mackenzie Cauthorn, McKenna Mueller, Lily Moyers and Kaelyn Ramsey all earned the recognition after excelling in the classroom and on the diamond. To qualify, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.5 cumulative GPA while participating in 90% or starting in 66% of a team's scheduled contests. Pitchers must also meet a certain threshold in innings pitched to qualify.

Rhoads earned a spot on the All-ODAC second team as she led the Eagles in ERA in her sophomore season. The Hiwassee, Va. native surrendered just nine walks in her second season at BC on the way to a 9-3 record in the circle. Her 1.53 ERA was a team best while batters hit just .218 off of her during the 2026 campaign.

Cauthorn adds another Academic All-District nod to her lengthy ledger. The senior shattered the program record book in her fourth season on campus as she set the single-season, single-game and career strikeout records. Cauthorn also set the program record with 158.0 innings pitched, while her 21 complete games in 2026 tied the program's top mark. An All-ODAC and NFCA All-Region pick this season. The Tappahannock, Va., product was also a threat at the plate in her senior campaign. Cauthorn set career bests in average and RBI, while she tallied a pair of home runs with none larger than a two-run blast in the ODAC Tournament to help punch BC's ticket to the ODAC Championship Series.

Mueller also adds another Academic All-District honor to a well-decorated career in Crimson and Gold. Hailing from New Kent, Va., Mueller led the squad in 2026 with 52 hits and ranked second in average, double and RBI. Mueller finished her career a few weeks ago without missing a game. She started all 173 games she was eligible for over her four years, ranking among the NCAA's active career leaders.

Moyers earns her first Academic All-District honor in her first season eligible for the award. The local product saw action in 37 games for BC, becoming a mainstay at first base. Moyers was a key piece of BC's run to the ODAC Championship Series as she drove in four runs during the Eagles' winning run in pod play. Her 32 hits and two doubles were career highs for the sophomore.

Ramsey also adds another CSC award to her ledger in her senior season. The Amherst, Va. native saw action in 33 games for BC in her senior season and delivered in the clutch with three RBI in the ODAC Torunament. Ramsey also registered a career-high seven walks in her senior season and finishes her career with 50 runs driven in.

Rhoads, Cauthorn and Mueller are eligible for CSC Academic All-America honors if selected. CSC Academic All-America teams will be announced on June 16. For more information about CSC Academic All-District® and Academic All-America® Teams program, visit AcademicAllAmerica.com
