SALISBURY, Md. - The Bridgewater College women's soccer team erupted for four first-half goals from four different scorers to defeat Salisbury 4-1 Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened
 

• The Eagles applied pressure early, earning two corner kicks in the opening four minutes before Cassandra Villafan opened the scoring in the eighth minute. Bridgewater continued to generate chances, and Sophia Phillips doubled the lead in the 20th minute off assists from Laura Narby and Brianna Curro.
• BC broke the match open with two goals just over two minutes apart. Kylie Denton found the net in the 32nd minute off Curro's second assist, then set up Lily Hewatt in the 34th minute to stretch the advantage to 4-0. The Eagles carried that lead into halftime after outshooting Salisbury 12-4.
• Salisbury pushed back after the break, but Erinn Lockard answered with saves against Brooke Spadin and Audrey Kregelka. The Sea Gulls got on the board in the 62nd minute when Sophia Pierce scored off assists from Callie Chesney and Rebecca Fairbanks.
• Bridgewater kept Salisbury from cutting further into the lead as Lockard added two more saves down the stretch. The Eagles continued creating opportunities of their own, earning five second-half corner kicks and forcing a late save on Sarah Farally's shot to close out the road victory.

• Denton recorded a goal and an assist, while Curro contributed two assists. Phillips led the Eagles with four shots, and Lockard finished with four saves.
• Pierce scored Salisbury's lone goal, while goalkeeper Aley Martins recorded four saves.
• Bridgewater finished with a 17-12 advantage in shots, an 8-5 edge in shots on goal and a 9-3 margin in corner kicks.
