BRIDGEWATER, Va. - Bridgewater College women's volleyball cruised to a straight-set victory over Randolph-Macon in their first conference home opener Friday night.

How It Happened

The Eagles got the ball rolling from the very first touch. In the opening set, BC blazed through starting off with a 10-4 lead as Maecy Ann Frizzelle pounded a darting kill to find open hardwood. From there, BC continued with the lead and never lost momentum. A four-point swing occurred late in the set with the help of strong attacks from Agnes Alford and Claire Griffith. Reagan Stoop sounded out the first set, with a cracking kill for a 25-18 first set score.

Once again, BC jumped out to an early lead in the second set. With offensive miscues from RMC, the Eagles found themselves in a comfortable position at 6-1. Soon after, the Crimson & Gold ripped off a six-point scoring surge to then take a 16-7 advantage. The Yellow Jackets could not find the answer the rest of the set as BC secured the second set, 25-15.

Just like the two prior sets, the Eagles planted the first point in the third set. The Yellow Jackets fell in a hole to begin the set and struggled to climb out of their disrupted offensive connections. BC carried on strongly using a four-point run through the middle of the set while Griffith got a handle on the offensive attack and knocked down three kills of the next four points. BC held firmly and nailed a final set score, 25-17 to take the conference win.

Olivia Mason was successful on six of her eight total attacking attempts and logged two block assists.
