Dan Schiele joined the Eagles football staff in 2021 as tight ends coach.
Schiele had worked for his alma mater James Madison University since graduating, first as an offensive grad assistant/video coordinator and then an offensive analyst.
As a senior, Schiele was a tight end on JMU's 2016 national championship team, playing in all 15 games and scoring three TDs. He made the switch to tight end after two seasons as a quarterback, and also played numerous roles on special teams over his four years with the Dukes. The recipient of the team's 2016 Unsung Hero Award, he was a part of three CAA championship teams as a player.
As an assistant coach with JMU, Schiele has added CAA championships in 2017 and 2019, with the Dukes reaching the FCS national championship game in both seasons.
