Justin Williamson

Justin Williamson begins the 2023 season in his third year as the defensive line coach and second full season as the Eagles' recruiting coordinator. 

In 2022, Williamson guided a defensive line that included first team All-ODAC honoree, Tucker Harris, as a sophomore defensive tackle. Harris finished with 36 tackles, including 22 solo stops and 6.0 TFL. He also led the ODAC with seven quarterback hurries and even had an interception and a touchdown reception during the course of the season. 

In his first season overseeing the defensive line, Williamson guided a pair of linemen to All-ODAC laurels with Jayden Johnson earning second team honors and Da'Sean Davis picking up a third team selection. Davis finished fifth on the team with 45 tackles, including a team-high 11.0 TFLs. Davis earned ODAC Defensive Player of the Week honors and a spot in the national spotlight on D3football.com's Team of the Week after setting a program record with 4.5 tackles for loss in the Eagles' 31-7 win against Gettysburg to open the season. Johnson tied for the second-most sacks in the ODAC with 5.0 as he also finished the season with 6.0 TFL and 28 total stops to go with a pair of forced fumbles. 

Williamson spent four years on staff at Norfolk State University, most recently as defensive line/recruiting coordinator after previously serving as the tight ends coach and video coordinator. His unit earned two All-MEAC selections in 2019 and his time including mentoring De'Shaan Dixon who currently plays for the Jacksonville Jaguars in the NFL. In 2021, he was selected for the NCAA  and NFL Coaches Academy 

Williamson was a four-year letterwinner for the University of Richmond from 2011-14, totaling 118 tackles, 9.0 sacks and 17.0 TFLs for his career.

He was a team captain and third team All-CAA selection as a senior, starting all 14 games and leading the team with 9.0 sacks, 7.0 TFLs and six QB hurries. In 2012, he made two starts for the Spiders’ 2012 CAA championship squad.

He graduated from Richmond in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in journalism.
