Former Bridgewater College basketball standout Clay Michael returned to the College in 2015-16 as an assistant coach.

The Eagles closed the 2019-20 regular season by winning three of their final four to clinch at ODAC playoff spot on the final day. Chandler Murray and Davrion Grier were both named to the All-ODAC team.

A young Eagles squad had a winning season in 2017-18, going 14-12 overall. Freshman Dimetri Chambers was an All-ODAC selection while earning both state and conference Rookie of the Year accolades.

Michael had spent the previous three seasons as a volunteer assistant coach at Shenandoah University.

Michael graduated from Bridgewater College in 2006 with a degree in History & Political Science. On the hardwood, he was a two-time All-ODAC selection and was the ODAC men’s basketball Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2005 and 2006. Michael finished his four-year career at BC with 1,078 points and 744 rebounds. He ranks No. 28 in career points and seventh in career rebounds at Bridgewater.

Michael completed his playing career with one year of professional basketball in Germany.

He works as a consultant in northern Virginia.
