Michael Lockard joined the Eagles' coaching staff for the 2018-19 season.

Lockard is a 2017 graduate of James Madison University. While at JMU, Lockard was a practice player for the Dukes women's basketball team where he played on the scout team and participated in practice drills with the team. He also tutored JMU student-athletes in their study of finance.

He most recently worked as an assistant boys' basketball and baseball coach at Fairfax High School.

Lockard graduated from JMU with a degree in sports and recreation management with a minor in business.
