Bridgewater College women's basketball head coach Sarah Mathews announced the addition of Alley Odell to the staff for the 2019-20 season.

"Alley will compliment our staff well," said Mathews. "She brings a unique perspective recently hanging up her playing sneakers for coaching on the AAU level. Alley will bring a lot of energy both on-court and in the recruiting process. I couldn't be happier with welcoming her to the Bridgewater family."

Bridgewater won 10 straight games at one point in 2019-20 and earned the #3 seed in the ODAC playoffs- the Eagles' highest finish since 2010-11. Madison Baum was the ODAC's second-ever Defensive Player of the Year and fellow junior Ahlia Moone was first team All-Conference. BC also became the third NCAA Division III women's basketball program to reach 1,000 all-time victories during the season.

Odell was previously a volunteer assistant coach in the girls' varsity program at Godwin High School in Glen Allen, Va. She also worked as a volunteer assistant coach in the CrossOver Hoops AAU program in Richmond.

Odell played collegiately at Concord University in Athens, W.Va. She graduated from Concord in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology with a minor in social work. She is currently enrolled in the Liberty University Online Master's program.
