Eagles picked third in preseason poll

The Bridgewater College volleyball team was picked to finish third in the ODAC preseason coaches' poll released Wednesday.

Defending champion Washington & Lee was picked first and received 10 of the 11 first-place votes. Randolph-Macon was picked second.

The Eagles will be under the direction of first-year head coach Greg Spector. BC lost ODAC Player of the Year Marsha Hermes to graduation, but the Eagles return a solid nucleus to the court in 2008. All-ODAC first-team pick Erika Dirnagl returns along with All-ODAC second-team setter Tricia Davis.

Following BC in the poll are Virginia Wesleyan, Roanoke, Lynchburg, Emory & Henry, Eastern Mennonite, Guilford, Randolph and Sweet Briar.
