FROSTBURG, Md. - Bridgewater College split its
two matches Saturday at the Frostburg State Quads.
In Saturday's first match, the Eagles were swept by a strong
Lebanon Valley team in three sets by scores 21-12, 21-17, 21-13.
Lebanon Valley is now 21-1 on the season.
In BC's final match, the Eagles survived in a close five-set
contest against Neumann University. Bridgewater rallied from a 2-1
deficit to win the match.
Neumann won the first set, 27-25, but the Eagles evened the
match, winning the second set by an identical score.
The third set was once again closely contested with Neumann
edging the Eagles, again by the 27-25 score to take a 2-1 lead.
Bridgewater dominated the final two sets, winning 25-11 and 15-6
to pick up the victory.
Senior Erika Dirnagl and sophomore Katie Baker were named to the
all-tournament team.
The Eagles are now 8-11 on the season.
