LYNCHBURG, Va. - Bridgewater College overcame
an early goal Wednesday night and played Randolph College to a 1-1
tie in ODAC men's soccer action.
The Wildcats took a quick lead when Nick Hudson scored at the
6:22 mark, giving the hosts a 1-0 lead.
That turned out the be the final goal for Randolph as the BC
defense and keeper Jack Bottoms held the Wildcats scored for the
rest of the contest.
Randolph maintained the 1-0 lead until the 64:12 mark when the
Eagles evened the score on a goal by Nick Rutten off an assist from
Zach Cundiff.
Randolph held a slim 22-19 edge in shots and a 9-4 advantage in
corner kicks.
Bottoms finished the night with five saves for the Eagles.
The victory snapped BC's 14-game losing streak. Bridgewater is
now 1-14-1 overall and 0-7-1 in the ODAC.
The Eagles travel to Emory & Henry on Saturday for a 6:30
p.m. contest.
