LEXINGTON, Va. - The Bridgewater College
volleyball team lost a pair of matches Saturday, falling in four
sets to Washington and Lee in ODAC play and then losing in four to
Marietta in a non-conference match.
W&L jumped on the Eagles quickly, winning the first set
25-16 and then turning back a strong challenge in the second set,
25-20. The Eagles took the third set 29-27, but the Generals turned
back the Eagles in the fourth set, 25-22, to close out the match.
Bridgewater took an early lead against Marietta with a strong
25-18 win in the opening set, but the Pioneers rallied to win the
next three sets by scores of 25-17, 25-21, 25-16.
The Eagles are now 9-14 overall and 6-4 in the ODAC.
