Bridgewater College shot 66.7 percent from the floor in the
second half to pull away from a 24-24 halftime tie and defeat
Randolph College, 75-66.
Both teams struggled from the field in the opening half with
Bridgewater shooting just 31 percent while the WidlCats shot 40
percent.
Randolph led early in the second half, 27-24, before Kyle Hammond
came off the BC bench to hit back-to-back 3-pointers to give the
Eagles the lead for good.
The Eagles pushed the lead to double figures with 8:08 left when
Michael Scorsome hit a 3-pointer from the top of the key and then
added a layup on the break, giving Bridgewater a 56-42 lead.
The Eagles kept the lead in double figures until the WildCats
scored the final four points of the game.
Dominic Trawick led the Eagles with 19 points and also turned in a
stellar floor game with six assists and zero turnovers. Hammond
added 11 points off the bench.
Bridgewater shot 48.2 percent from the field and finished with a
season-low eight turnovers. BC also held a slight edge on the
boards, 39-35 with Justin Reavis leading the way with nine
rebounds.
Timothy Clarke paced Randolph with 21 points and Derrick
Morrow-Woods finished with 18 points and 13 rebounds.
With the win, Bridgewater moved into a tie for third place in the
ODAC with an 8-4 conference mark. The Eagles are now 12-9 overall.
Randolph drops to 5-15 overall and 2-10 in the ODAC.
