GETTYSBURG, Pa. - The Bridgewater College
Eagles lost a pair of close matches on the first day of the
Gettysburg College volleyball tournament.
The Eagles lost their first match to Elizabethtown, 3-1. E'town
won the first two sets 25-19, 25-22 before BC stayed alive in the
match by taking the third set, 25-21. Elizabethtown closed out the
match, winning a close fourth set, 25-22.
BC then lost a tough five set match against Frostburg State. The
Eagles opened play with a 25-19 victory before Frostburg gained the
upper hand, winning the next two sets 25-18 and 25-19. Bridgewater
won set four, 25-21, but Frostburg edged the Eagles in the fifth
and deciding set, 15-12.
The Eagles, now 1-6 on the season, will look to get back on the
winning track with matches against Gettysburg and Mary Washington
scheduled for Saturday.
